Lindsay Draper (Newark, DE) was named the recipient of the Ann Kneavel Alpha Chi Scholarship at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The scholarship was presented to Draper by Executive Vice President, Kristine Santomauro and Senior Advisor, Amanda Birch. The award celebrates the illustrious 29-year career of Professor Ann Kneavel, who helped establish Goldey-Beacom's Alpha Chi Beta Chapter in 1984, which is a national honor's society.

Anthony Dina (Bear, DE) was named the 2022 Fulmer Leadership Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Dina by Vice President for Student Affairs & Athletics, Dr. Charles Hammond and Director of Residence and Student Life, Jocelyn Moses. The Fulmer Leadership Award is named for the late Clarence Fulmer, who was a life-long teacher and former president of Goldey-Beacom College, as well as a lifetime trustee. Dina was nominated for the Fulmer Leadership Award as a result of his outsanding leadership and accomplishment in college-related endeavors.

Natalia Richards (Jim Thorpe, PA) was named the 2022 Kiwanis A. Raymond Jackson Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Richards by Vice President for Student Affairs & Athletics, Dr. Charles Hammond and Director of Residence and Student Life, Jocelyn Moses. The Kiwanis A. Raymond Jackson Award is named after the late A. Raymond Jackson, a former executive vice president who served both Goldey and Beacom Colleges for more than 50 years. Jackson was a memeber of the Kiwanis club for many years, and Richards was presented the award as a result of her strong commitment to community service and equally strong commitment to her academic program.

Sarah Round (Northampton, UK) was named the 2022 Lewis Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Round by Vice President for Student Affairs & Athletics, Dr. Charles Hammond and Director of Residence and Student Life, Jocelyn Moses. The Lewis Award is named after the late William Cleaver Lewis, who was a community activist, former trustee of the College, longtime member of the Wilmington school board, and recipient of the Josiah Marvel Cup. Round was nominated for the award as a result of her oustanding performance in one or more services for the betterment of the Goldey-Beacom College community.

Chari Konomi (Helsingborg, Sweden) was named the 2022 Miller Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Konomi by Vice President for Student Affairs & Athletics, Dr. Charles Hammond and Director of Residence and Student Life, Jocelyn Moses. The Miller Award is named for former Goldey-Beacom College President Jay W. Miller, and was awarded to Konomi in recognition of personal growth, scholarship, maturity, service to the College, evidence of good citizenship, humility, and initiative.

Maria Alejandra Bruno Taguaruco (Maracay, Venezuela) was named the 2022 Larson Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Bruno by Vice President for Student Affairs & Athletics, Dr. Charles Hammond and Director of Residence and Student Life, Jocelyn Moses. Bruno was nominated for the Larson Award, presented by Sister Cities International, for promoting peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation to one individual, one community at a time.

William Bethard (Magnolia, DE) was named the 2022 Accounting Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Bethard by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. Bethard was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for demonstrating the knowledge and the qualities necessary for excellence in the field of Accounting.

Christina Jordan (Chestnut Hill Cove, MD) was named the 2022 Criminal Justice Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Jordan by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. Jordan was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for demonstrating the knowledge and qualities necessary for excellence in the field of Criminial Justice.

Ira Shepherd (Newark, DE) was named the 2022 Dean's Cup Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Shepherd by Vice President for Student Affairs & Athletics, Dr. Charles Hammond, and Director of Residence and Student Life, Jocelyn Moses. Shepherd was nominated for the award for showing remarkable dedication to the Goldey-Beacom College community through his leadership, extra-curricular involvement, and service. Shepherd has been a catalyst in increasing campus pride among the community through engagement with his peers, and is an excellent example of student leadership by developing other leaders through his everyday actions.

Amanda Garcia (New Castle, DE) was named the 2022 Excellence in Liberal Arts Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Garcia by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. Garcia was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for demonstrating outstanding achievement in the liberal arts areas of history, humanities, literature, philosophy, and sociology.

Richards was nominated by the College's faculty for demonstrating the leadership qualities necessary for excellence in a career in the field of finance.

Kaitlyn Stauffenberg (Newark, DE) was named the 2022 Human Resource Management Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Stauffenberg by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. Stauffenberg was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for demonstrating the knowledge and the qualities necessary for excellence in the field of human resource management, in and outside the classroom.

Lucia Castillo (Wilmington, DE) was named the 2022 Marketing Management Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Castillo by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. Castillo was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for demonstrating the leadership qualities necessary for excellence in the field of marketing.

Julia Christo Syrdahl (Basking RIdge, NJ) was named the 2022 Mathematics Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Syrdahl by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. Syrdahl was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for demonstrating excellence in the study of mathematics with an outstanding achievement in mathematical coursework, and intellectual curiosity regarding quantitative applications.

Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV) was named the 2022 Psychology Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Spendlove by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. Spendlove was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for demonstrating the leadership qualities necessary for excellence in the field of psychology.

Sidy Toure (Bamako, Mali) was named the 2022 Poole Memorial Excellence in Writing Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Toure by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. The late William Poole was an attorney-at-law, a trustee of the College and former Chairman of the Board. Toure was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for demonstrating overall writing excellence in terms of content, creativity, style, maturity of expression, awareness of purpose and audience, organization and correctness.

Jessica White (Vineland, NJ) was named the 2022 Franta Excellence in Speaking Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to White by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. Dr. William Franta was an honorary life trustee of the College and a retired DuPont company executive. White was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for demonstrating the outstanding speaking ability through articulation, enthusiasm, pose, and command of subject.

Zahid Hossain (Newark, DE) was named the 2022 Perrone Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Hossain by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. Robert J. Perrone is a distinguished alumnus of the College. The Perrone Award has been endowed by Ray and Mildred Thompson to honor Mr. Perrone. Hossain was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for demonstrating an interest in a career in public accounting, showing leadership qualities, and actively participating in community service.

Five students were named recipients of the 2022 Excellence in Graduate Studies awards at Goldey-Beacom College's Honors Day Ceremony. The awards were presented by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. The College's faculty nominated the recipients for demonstrating the true meaning of excellence both in, and outside, the classroom. Bryan Horsey (Wilmington, DE) was named the 2022 Nelson Debater of the Year Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Horsey by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. The award was established in honor of retired professor Don Nelson, who began the debating program at the College. Horsey was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for an outstanding performance in a classroom debate.

Danine Romero (Hockessin, DE) was named the 2022 Excellence in Doctoral Studies Award winner at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. The award was presented to Romero by Provost, Alison Boord White and Associate Provost, Dr. Joel Worden. Romero was nominated by the College's faculty to receive the award for demonstrating excellence both in, and outside, the classroom as part of the Doctor of Business Administration program.

Courtney Kenner (Bear, DE) was named the recipient of the President's Award for Achieving Greater for the Graduate Division at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. Kenner was presented with the award by the President of Goldey-Beacom College, Dr. Colleen Perry Keith. The President's Award for Achieving Greater is the most prestigious award a student at the College is eligible to receive. The award is presented to a student who demonstrated the true meaning of 'Achieving Greater' during their career at the College by nature of academic achievement and contributions to the process of education in the classroom; growth, as a person and a student, during their time at the College; and enthusiastic involvement, initiative, and leadership that contributed to the betterment of the College community.

Sidy Toure (Bamako, Mali) was named the recipient of the President's Award for Achieving Greater for the Undergraduate Division at Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Honors Day ceremony. Toure was presented with the award by the President of Goldey-Beacom College, Dr. Colleen Perry Keith. The President's Award for Achieving Greater is the most prestigious award a student at the College is eligible to receive. The award is presented to a student who demonstrated the true meaning of 'Achieving Greater' during their career at the College by nature of academic achievement and contributions to the process of education in the classroom; growth, as a person and a student, during their time at the College; and enthusiastic involvement, initiative, and leadership that contributed to the betterment of the College community.

Resident Assistants at Goldey-Beacom College were honored for their service to the Rho Alpha Sigma Beta Omega Chapter during the 2021-22 academic year by the Student Affairs Office at its annual ceremony. Beginning in the Spring of 2021, Goldey-Beacom College joined Rho Alpha Sigma, the premier National Resident Assistant Honors Society, as its Beta Omega Chapter. During this past year, the Resident Assistants involved in Rho Alpha Sigma had a focus on community service. In just one year they were able to volunteer for over 60 hours of community service, assist in building a career closet so students can always have access to outfits for interviews, partnered with Sean's House in Newark, DE to help raise awareness for Mental Health on college campuses and so much more! Nazim Moore-Derry (Atlantic City, NJ) was named Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Male Most Valuable Player at the 2022 Student-Athlete Awards ceremony. Moore-Derry excelled on the basketball court with deft shooting touch, the ability to get open when other teams know they have to stop him, underappreciated defense, and overall knowledge of both the game and his teammates. He ended among the nation's best with 20.1 points per game, 36.3 minutes per contest, broke the school record with 100 3-pointers, and scored at least 30 points seven times. He was named first team all-league in helping the Lightning get back to the CACC Tournament.

Mason Maxwell (Newfield, NJ) was named Goldey-Beacom College's 2021 Male Most Valuable Player at its 2022 Student-Athlete Awards ceremony. Maxwell enjoyed one of the greatest seasons at Goldey-Beacom by any athlete in any sport. As the baseball team's starting shortstop, he is a beyond gifted athlete who makes the game seem so simple with hitting for power and fielding that is eye-opening and effortless. The Lightning's Mr. Reliable also batted .588 in the NCAA Tournament in 2020, with two doubles, three home runs, and six RBIs. He was named Second-Team All-CACC and Second Team All-East Region.

Bianca Newsom (Edison, NJ) was named Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Female Most Valuable Player at its 2022 Student-Athlete Awards ceremony. Newsom made her arrival this year with the softball team and has been a tremendous asset as the team's starting shortstop. She is among the team's best with a .369 batting average, 38 hits, 28 RBIs, 10 stolen bases and earlier this season notched an 11-game hitting streak. She is part of a program that is on the way up and her play continues to be more and more impressive each game.

Kayla Cook (Hebron, MD) was named Goldey-Beacom College's 2021 Female Most Valuable Player at its 2022 Student-Athlete Awards ceremony. Cook has been a major factor in the continued surge of the Track & Field program for the Lightning. Last season among her six meets, she was second in the 100-meter dash at the CACC Championship, and third in the 200-meter dash. She was also part of the 4x400-meter relay squad that ended fifth at the same meet, and was voted the team's most valuable player.

Logan McNelis (Sewickley, PA) was named Goldey-Beacom College's 2022 Male Rookie of the Year at its 2022 Student-Athlete Awards ceremony. McNelis picked up a victory in his last four appearances in which he has notched 10 strikeouts over 17 2/3 innings. He has the second-best ERA on the men's baseball team and his opponents are hitting just .262 off him.
