The Delaware Press Association recognizes excellence in journalism, writing, and communications produced throughout the state. The annual awards program highlights outstanding storytelling, editorial quality, and design across print and digital publications.

The award-winning 2025 issue of Goldey-Beacom College Magazine is the largest edition produced to date, featuring 60 pages of stories highlighting student success, alumni achievements, faculty leadership, philanthropy, and athletics. The publication celebrates the vibrant community of the College while showcasing the impact of a Goldey-Beacom education.

"The stories of our students, alumni, faculty, and supporters are at the heart of what makes Goldey-Beacom special," said Dr. Colleen Perry Keith, president of Goldey-Beacom College. "This recognition reflects the powerful sense of community and opportunity that defines the College."

The awards will be presented during the Delaware Press Association Awards Dinner on May 13 at the historic Sunnybrae Mansion in Milford, where communications and media professionals from across the state will be recognized for their work.

In addition to the first-place magazine award, Goldey-Beacom College also received two additional honors in the 2026 DPA competition for work written by Sorbello. These recognitions highlight the College's ongoing commitment to high-quality storytelling and communications.

Runner-Up - Press Release Category for "Goldey-Beacom College to Host Civil Rights Champion and Former Louis L. Redding Law Intern Karen Ingram."

Honorable Mention - Feature Writing for the story highlighting Marie Vacca, published in the Spring/Summer 2025 issue of Goldey-Beacom College Magazine.

Produced by the College's Office of External Affairs, the magazine serves as a central storytelling platform for Goldey-Beacom. The publication is edited and produced by Janine Sorbello, Director of External Affairs, who leads the magazine's editorial strategy, writing, design, and production. Distributed in print and digital formats to alumni, donors, community leaders, and friends of the College, the publication celebrates the achievements of the GBC community while strengthening connections with supporters and prospective students.

The recognition comes on the heels of another honor earlier this year, Goldey-Beacom College Magazine also received the 2025 Fundraising and Communications Excellence (F.A.C.E.) Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Brandywine Chapter in the Magazine category. The F.A.C.E. Awards recognize nonprofit organizations whose communications efforts demonstrate the highest standards of quality, creativity, and measurable impact.

Through personal storytelling and compelling visual design, the magazine highlights the experiences of Goldey-Beacom students and alumni while reinforcing the College's mission to provide an inclusive, career-focused education that prepares graduates for professional success.

The College's marketing team also received recognition in the Delaware Press Association awards program for a marketing communications piece developed in partnership with the College's agency, Brand Swan. The project was led by Jenn Wells, Director of Marketing, whose work continues to strengthen the College's visual brand and marketing presence.
