Goldey-Beacom College Announces 2025 Convocation

Wilmington, DE (08/15/2025) — Wilmington, DE - Goldey-Beacom College (GBC) is pleased to announce its fifth annual Convocation on Friday, August 22, 2025. Beginning at 11:00 a.m. students, staff, faculty, trustees and community guests will gather in the Event Center to kick off the 2025-2026 academic year.
Preceded by a bagpipes processional, President Colleen Perry Keith will address attendees with College updates, future plans and what to expect during the upcoming academic cycle.

About Preston James Russell
Preston James Russell is a proud alumnus of Goldey-Beacom College, where he earned four degrees: an Associate's in Business Administration, a Bachelor's in Finance, and dual Master's degrees in Marketing and Management. He has combined this strong academic foundation with over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry to build a successful portfolio of businesses at the Delaware beaches.
Russell is the owner of Zava Cafe, LAGO Asian Cuisine & Sushi Bar and Changing Mains Food Trucks. As both a realtor and restaurateur, he is passionate about creating welcoming spaces where people can gather and connect over great food. His work reflects a deep commitment to community, hospitality, and entrepreneurship. When he's not at one of his restaurants, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
About Goldey-Beacom College
Founded in 1886, Goldey-Beacom College has approximately 1,300 students enrolled from 29 states and 65 nations. The College offers 48 degree options in its graduate and undergraduate programs with majors in psychology, economics, criminal justice, communication & media, human services, English, and all areas of business, including accounting, business administration, entrepreneurship and finance.
The College began accepting students into three new degree programs in spring 2024: Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, Master of Science in Human Resource Management, and an MBA Major in Human Resource Management. The College also began offering fully online options for students in the following degree programs: MBA Analytical Track (STEM-designated), traditional MBA program concentration areas, and the MS in Human Resource Management. Additionally, the College offers 21 certificate programs.
